Volunteer

Martumili is on the hunt for creatives to apply for the monthly volunteer program at our wonderful arts centre in 2024! The program is full time and offers immersive, hands on experience within the arts centre, enabling a unique opportunity to experience life in a remote setting and engage with the artists in their own environment. We would love to hear from new applicants as well as our Martumili alumni.

Martumili Artists host volunteers on a monthly basis. The program is full time and offers immersive, hands on experience within the arts centre, enabling a unique opportunity to experience life in a remote setting and engage with the artists in their own environment. Please let us know your particular set of skills and interests and we will work to ensure your experience with us is as mutually rewarding as possible.

Volunteers are expected to do all or some of the following:
-Mixing paints
-Stretching and priming canvas
-Cataloguing artworks
-Caring for senior artists
-Preparing tea and lunch
-General administrative tasks
-Keeping the gallery and studio tidy
-Installation/de-installation (depending on the time of year)

Volunteering is unpaid however flights, accommodation and food allowance is provided. Martumili are currently seeking volunteers for 2024, dates available are:

These positions are competitive, so priority consideration will be given to candidates with relevant arts experience, or with a unique skill that can be utilised in their time here. 

Local Newman based residents are also welcome to volunteer their time at the art centre, feel free to pay us a visit during opening hours.
